Located on the northern part of the West Island, in the borough Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Pierrefonds is bordered by the Saint Lawrence River to the north, the edge of the Bois-de-la-Roche agricultural park to the west, Parkinson street to the east, and Antoine-Faucon, Shakespeare and Anselme Lavigne streets to the south. The neighborhood is surrounded by Senneville, KirklandPointe-Claire and Roxboro. Like all neighbourhoods on the West-Island, Pierrefonds has a significant anglophone community. A residential area, Pierrefonds consists mainly of houses and condos. Over the past couple of years, many condominium buildings and complexes have also been built. Pierrefonds will interest families who would like to live in a calm and peaceful part of the island with easy access to Highway 40.

A little village for most of its history, the town of Pierrefonds was created in 1958 and was finally made part of Montreal in 2002.

Features and attractions:

Pierrefonds' most significant attraction is the Cap-Saint-Jacques nature park, which, at 3 km2, is Montreal's largest park.
