Bordered by Monk Boulevard, the Lachine and de l'Aqueduc Canals, and Pitt Street, Cote-St-Paul is located in the southwest. Cote-Saint-Paul is bordered by Ville-Émard, Saint-Henri andVerdun. A small neighbourhood, Cote-St-Paul is mostly comprised of apartments and condos. Cote-St-Paul will interest couples and young families who wish to live relatively close to downtown, who want to enjoy easy commuting thanks to the Jolicoeur metro station and the proximity of Highway 15, and who want to reap the benefits of having the Lachine Canal at their doorstep.

The neighbourhood, which used to be an independent town, developed thanks to the construction of the Lachine Canal. In 1910, it was annexed and made part of the city of Montreal.
