A neighbourhood partly located on the slopes of Mount Royal, Westmount is an independent town located within the city of Montreal. The neighbourhood is surrounded by Ville Marie, the SouthwestNDG and Outremont.

Westmount is a peaceful town with just over 20,000 inhabitants. Although mostly anglophone, the last few decades have marked an increased francophone presence. As evidenced by the fact that the income per person in this neighbourhood is one of the highest in the country, this is a very well-to-do area that will interest those who are comfortably middle-class or higher. It is ideal for all people who wish to live or raise a family in a serene and safe area in a spacious home or luxury condo.

Due to the sociocultural standing of its population, Westmount is not very well served by public transit, save the Atwater metro station right at its eastern border. The 26 acre Westmount Park is located on the western slope of Mount Royal. Since it is considered a Canadian National Historic Site, Westmount has many green spaces and magnificent residences with tasteful architecture. Additionally, it is home to the Pepsi Forum, an amusement complex with a cinema, a restaurant, a bar and an arcade that includes bowling and a climbing wall.
