Bordered by Riviere-des-Prairies to the south, Highway 13 to the west, Highway 40 to the north and Daniel Johnson Boulevard to the east, Chomedey is located on the southwest of Ile Jesus. Chomedey is Laval's most multiethnic sector, where you'll find Lebanese, Haitian, Greek, and Italian communities. Although primarily francophone, you'll hear many other languages spoken. There are a significant number of apartments in the area, offset in recent years by the upsurge in the building of condos. This phenomenon can be attributed in part to the fact that Centropolis, considered by many to be Laval's downtown, is located in Chomedey.

Features and attractions:

  • Centropolis, with all its shops and restaurants
  • Carrefour Laval (shopping centre with over 300 boutiques, restaurants and services)
  • Berthiaume-du-Tremblay park
