Dorval is located to the west of downtown Montreal and is bordered by the St. Lawrence river to the south, the Des Sources Boulevard to the west, Highway 40 to the north and the Chomedey Highway to the east. Neighbouring districts include Pointe-Claire, Lachine, and DDO. Dorval is best known for the Pierre-Elliot Trudeau International Airport, but the neighbourhood also has a residential sector, where one can also find many houses, condos and apartments (about 40%). Its population totals 18,000, 58% of which is anglophone and 29% francophone. The average income is higher than average. The area will suit middle-class families looking for a calm area that is a mere 15-minute drive from the downtown core. Highway 20 makes for easy commuting.
